This is a highly rewarding role which contributes to the safety and security of vulnerable children and adults. Due to the nature of the confidential and sensitive information disclosed and discussed the postholder will require a high level of emotional resilience and be skilled in the governance of confidential information.

You will be expected to work in a range of meeting venues across the Leeds area for the purpose of providing support in Council Buildings or school sites for the majority of the week, some meetings are also held virtually and therefore some home working is also supported.

Job Description

Shared Services consists of employees in the Business Support Centre and Business Administration Service. Both of these services provide administration support activities to a wide range of teams and services across the council.  We help the council to streamline operations by redesigning processes, reviewing models of delivery to enable better sharing of resources and exploiting existing or introducing new technology to modernise the way we work. 
Our staff use a range of computer programmes and systems to support services which include those working with teams based across the council in a number of different administration roles.   The role involves hybrid working (home/office dependant on service need), potentially working face-to-face with customers and working within the council boundaries as required.
Job Purpose:
This role specifically focuses on programming, facilitating and supporting complex safeguarding multi agency and family orientated meetings within the areas of child protection and high risk domestic violence. This involves the preparation of the information, including the production of written reports and the verbal presentation of summary information at the meetings to those in attendance. The role also includes the production of accurate and timely written records, including action and safety plans which are then monitored for implementation, progress and completion through case management systems.

Engagement with professionals is a fundamental part of the role to curate the agenda, support professionals through the meeting process, and ensure that required actions are implemented and completed.

Specific team job purposes are listed below.

Supervise and develop staff to ensure work is prioritised and carried out effectively and efficiently to ensure deadlines are met to high standards.

Manage your own workload and meet targets, including statutory targets whilst maintaining quality as part of a team.

Assist professionals and meeting Chairs through the provision of verbal and written information in a clear and concise way with high attention to detail, which includes presentation of information in the meeting environment when required.

Adhering to legislative business, financial, audit, and operational requirements of the service, and the impact on its day-to-day work.

Adhering to procedures and legislation relating to confidential information and financial regulations.

Dealing with sensitive, difficult and confidential information, and having the emotional resilience to support business processes effectively.

Minute taking and producing accurate meeting records, whilst establishing, maintaining and reviewing case related records on multiple systems.

The continuous improvement of quality standards, business procedures and processes through continuous review and development.

Working flexibly to support service areas and business requirements.

Willing to abide by the Council’s Equality and Diversity and Health and Safety Policies.

Willing to actively participate in training and development activities to ensure up to date knowledge, skills and continuous professional development.
Qualifications: 

Qualifications demonstrating ability in numeracy and literacy or equivalent knowledge
