Job description


We are looking for experienced Band 5 or Band 6 Dietitians to work within our team of 15 Oncology / Surgery Dietitians to care for patients treated in the Cambridge Cancer Centre. We are able to offer three rotational posts that may include areas such as Head and Neck, Haematology and Stem Cell Transplant, Lower GI, Lung and HPB. (One of these posts will provide support to the Hepatology Team 2 days/week until December 2024).
You will be well supported by Senior Oncology Dietitians and be involved in providing a service to all patients across the whole pathway, including Inpatients and Outpatients and all modes of treatment; chemotherapy / immunotherapy / CAR-T / radiotherapy / major cancer surgery. These posts will also involve supporting patients requiring artificial nutrition support.
Our Oncology specialist MDTs are very inclusive and supportive and we have a strong presence within them.
To act as part of the Dietetic Team and in conjunction with the Oncology / Critical Care team to contribute to the Dietetic Services to a variety of Oncology areas such as Lung, Head and Neck, Upper GI, HPB and Haemato-oncology patients, streamlining service and care regionally where appropriate in conjunction with the Band 7 and Band 8a Dietitians at Addenbrooke’s and other external Units / agencies as appropriate.
To work within a multi professional framework and contribute to a first class service through evidence based clinical practice, management, education, research and audit.
To set and work towards individual and team objectives that reflect corporate plans and work within the clinical governance framework.

Our Dietetic Team of over 100 Dietitians covers a range of specialities including Cancer, Critical Care, Neurosurgery, Hepatology, Renal, Organ Transplants, Gastroenterology, Paediatrics, Diabetes, Cardiology and Obesity. We have a very active social committee and EDI group and regularly hold social events both inside and outside the hospital. In addition, the Trust also has social fitness centre on site.
