Band 6 Specialist Physiotherapist Critical Care & Surgery
We are looking for a dynamic physiotherapistto join ourCritical Care and Surgery Therapy Team in the Integrated Community Service Division at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust. An exciting opportunity has come available suitable for a motivated physiotherapist, who is attracted to the specialism.
This post may interest you if you have experience of working on critical care and acute wards. The role involves providing respiratory and rehabilitation to critical care and the surgical wards (bowel/ urology/ ENT/ medical and orthopaedic outliers). The team physiotherapists and occupational therapists have strong working relationships within the wider MDT on critical care and the surgical wards.
The successful candidate will experience service development opportunities whilst supporting the band 7’s in the teaching, training and supervision of junior staff, students and therapy assistants. You would participate in the respiratory night oncall and work weekends as part of a rota. You will need to be a car driver (subject to DDA requirements) and have access to a vehicle to travel between sites, patient homes and for oncall.

• Supervision & mentorship of therapy assistants, junior and senior physiotherapy staff
• Deputation for Band 7 physiotherapists
• Advanced assessment & treatment skills in treating critically ill patients
• Independent caseload management at a senior level

• Clinical reasoning skills

• Ability to use and apply a range of assessment and treatment techniques
• Weekend working and participation in the out-of-hours oncall service are required
• Leading service development initiatives and operational team management
The post holder will be responsible for teaching and mentoring Band 5 and physiotherapy students and therapy assistants.
