An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly and supportive community team. We are a dynamic service committed to improving the lives of people with learning disabilities and their families, advocating for their needs and striving to reduce inequalities. The successful candidate will be based at the Ealing Community Learning Disabilities Team in Hanwell and carry out visits to service users at their homes, day centres, colleges and other settings across the diverse borough of Ealing.
We can offer the post holder opportunities to broaden their clinical experience, collaborate with the wider multi-disciplinary team, and work in partnership with our local services. We encourage ongoing professional development and will facilitate access to relevant courses and other learning opportunities. The post holder will be well-supported and receive regular clinical supervision from a senior Speech and Language Therapist working within the same clinical specialism. Flexible working arrangements can be offered.

This is a full-time role, offered as a fixed term contract with the option of being extended.
The successful candidate will independently manage a caseload of people with learning disabilities with communication and swallowing difficulties, with a wide range of health conditions. They will maintain a high standard of clinical work and offer a person-centred approach to client assessment and intervention. They will be expected to work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team, service users, carers, and other local services.
The post holder will deliver formal and informal training to staff and carers and participate in regular team meetings, and clinical supervision. They will be flexible, have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to reflect on their own practice. They will show respect and compassion for people with learning disabilities, and their families.
