As a key member of the Consultant led team, the successful applicant will provide support to a team of Core / Foundation Trainees / Trust Doctors and Advance Scope Practitioners in the care of T&O inpatients. The candidate will participate in relevant sub-specialty Fracture and Elective clinics and theatre lists. There will be adequate opportunities to learn procedural skills in all sub-specialties on a rotation basis. Management and Leadership The post-holder will have the opportunity to work with peers and contribute to the systems in place to assure quality of care, risk management and participate in corporate management responsibilities as appropriate. Education, Continuing Development and revalidation The Department runs an organised internal CPD programme to facilitate continued knowledge acquisition as well as the opportunity to attend appropriate training events with prior application. The appointee will be expected to maintain their skills and up-date knowledge in accordance with Continuing Medical Education and Professional Development Guidance from the General Medical Council and the Royal Colleges to facilitate revalidation. This includes a mandatory annual appraisal which forms part of the job planning process. The successful applicant will be involved in teaching medical students and training junior medical and nursing staff. Key Duties Of The Post- 1:12 Trauma Second on Call at Doncaster Royal Infirmary (subject to change to 1:16 in the near future. Assistance and supervision of the CT/FT/GPVTS/Trust Doctors in the management of Acute A&E presentation of Trauma patients and the management of T&O in-patients on the unit. Participate in elective and fracture clinics as well as theatre lists every week with respective team members Teaching and training medical students, juniors and peers Contribute to risk management systems within the Trust Participate in the Clinical Governance process within the Department and Trust Quality assurance of the service and individual practice
