Speech and Language Therapy Team Manager
Location: North London, hybrid working
Duration: 12-Months FTC
Salary: £59,328 per year
IR35 Status: Inside
An exciting position has arisen for a Speech and Language Therapy Team Manager for a London local authority. The role is responsible for the strategic, operational and professional management of the Speech and Language Therapy service to children and young people with EHCPs across the council.
Key Responsibilities of the SALT Team Manager:
- Strategically lead the Speech and Language Therapy service ensuring the service is effective and works collaboratively to provide care for children and families with EHCPs
- Ensure that service plans and policies are developed and implemented collaboratively
- Lead on the development and implementation of a range of objectives or projects relating to the integrated SALT Service, ensuring that these reflect local education priorities
- Write service reports, providing appropriate information, action plans and methodology for evaluating outcomes, reflecting national and local strategic priorities
- Demonstrate established negotiation skills in the management of conflict across a range of situations, which may involve diffusion of hostility and aggression
- Co-ordinate and develop cohesive care pathways/protocols, ensuring they are equitable to the children of Redbridge and consistent across the SALT service
- Advise the Head of Therapies on service delivery issues including demand and capacity gaps
- Implement and enforce robust systems of data collection and analysis reflecting the full range of activity of the service accurately and regularly
- Identify the need for, and lead on interagency/multi-disciplinary team building and policy development. e.g.: multi-professional working in special schools
- Responsible for the audit and procurement of equipment across teams ensuring that these are within available budget
Skills, experience and knowledge required of the SALT Team Manager:
- Previous experience within a similar role and organisation
- Necessary qualification including a current HCPC registration and RCSLT membership
- A proven record of leading a SALT team
