Sport/ Public Services Lecturer

This role offers an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with a background in sport, Uniformed Public Services (UPS), or similar disciplines, such as recent military or army reserves experience, or a personal trainer looking to transition into education.
The position involves teaching levels 1-3, providing a high-quality, inspirational, and supportive teaching experience across Military Preparation and Public Services (Protective Services) courses. The successful candidate will also tutor a cohort of students, contributing to their growth and success in a role that combines passion for public service with the transformative power of education.
Responsibilities:

• Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans and assessment plans to a high quality and mark assessments within the required timeframes, promoting academic achievement as an essential element of progression and promotion within the armed forces.
• Deliver high quality practical sessions, including fitness and land and water based outdoor activities such as navigation, climbing and kayaking, which help develop the qualities and characteristics that will help our students achieve their chosen career goals.
• Provide information, advice and guidance to students in regards to entry pathways and careers in the Public Services, maintaining records of achievement and progress in fitness testing, career applications and workplace experiences.
• Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans and assessment plans to a high quality and mark assessments within the required timeframes.
• To teach as required on all courses (full-time, part-time and short courses) within the Outdoor Adventure & Sports Coaching as directed by the Deputy Principal (Curriculum and Quality), Head of Department Outdoor Adventure, Sport and Public Services.
• Deliver high quality practical sports and fitness sessions.

Who are we looking for?

• Teaching qualification at Level 5 or above or willingness to work towards.
• Level 4 qualification in a relevant professional qualification.
• Experience and confidence working with young adults ages 16 +
• Previous work experience in the Military, Uniformed Services, Sport or Fitness Industries
