Sports Teaching Assistant
Caerphilly
An exciting opportunity has arisen within a secondary school in the Caerphilly area. The Head of Special Needs is on the lookout for a Sports Teaching Assistant to join their unique support team. The role is within a behavioural base for pupils that come from trauma backgrounds and struggle with mainstream classes.
About the role:
Mixture between working in mainstream and behavioural hub.
Working with pupils from trauma backgrounds with complex needs.
Assisting the pupils with their academic work and life skills.
Playing football/ rugby and board games etc to enhance pupils social skills.
Training and development offered throughout placement.
About you:
Energetic, caring and bubbly.
Keen to offer emotional support to pupils with additional needs.
Sporty and enjoy working in an active environment.
Personal or professional experience working with special needs.
Able to act on innovative as well as team player.
Passionate about making a difference to young peoples lives.
Details of the role:
Full-time Monday to Friday (08:15am-15:15pm).
Start date: Monday 19th February – ongoing.
£80 daily rate.
Term time only position.
Working within a behaviour hub with a max of 15 pupils.
Working with pupils with Autism, ADHD, Behavioural and Mental health needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
