JOB TITLE: Staff Nurse
HOURS: 37.5 hours per week
SALARY: £29,911 - £34,990 per annum (based on full-time)
CLOSING DATE: 28th April 2024
We welcome applications for a Staff Nurse to join our In-Patient Unit. You will be a registered nurse with either recent palliative care experience, or a willingness to undertake academic studies in specialist palliative care.
Using your skills and experience, you will be responsible for identifying patient’s holistic needs and for the planning and implementation of care, whilst also providing emotional support to patients and their family. Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team is therefore essential.
This diverse role will allow you to gain experience of supporting student nurses and less experienced clinical staff, as well as contributing and leading on quality and audit initiatives.
We believe that happy nurses provide great care to our patients, which is why we provide a higher nurse-to-patient ratio than NHS Trusts are able to offer, giving you the time to care for your patients. Furthermore, as a Newly Qualified Nurse, we offer an attractive starting salary which is higher than the equivalent NHS salary, as well as a shorter progression journey to reach the top of your band, providing our nurses with a greater sense of financial well-being to allow them to focus on offering excellent patient-centred care.
For nurses who are already working for the NHS, and who contribute to an NHS pension, we can offer you the added benefit of transferring your NHS pension, meaning you do not have to choose between continuing your NHS pension or diversifying your career experience – you can now do both!
Additional benefits include free on-site parking for all of our clinical staff and high-quality, low-cost meals to ensure you can enjoy the break you deserve.
The Kirkwood provide specialist care, free of charge, to adults in Kirklees with advanced, progressive illnesses at any time from diagnosis to the end of life, respecting their individual needs and wishes.
