Stoma Care Nurse
Leicester General and Leicester Royal Infirmary Hospitals
Hours – Full Time Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm
Are you a Registered Nurse (RGN) looking to specialise in stoma care?
We are looking for a Registered Nurse or Staff Nurse with colorectal or stoma experience. In this role you will be part of the stoma team and hospital based, supporting patients who have or may require the formation of a stoma. You will also provide training and education for Healthcare Practitioners in the hospital.

They pride themselves on a close working relationship with healthcare professionals in both the hospital and community setting and by providing education and advice directly to patients.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised nursing care of the patient with a stoma or fistula.
- To act as the patients’ advocate, through effective support and information enabling them to make informed choices and decisions concerning treatment.
- To liaise with the community and continuing care teams providing a seamless service between hospital and home.
- Provide expert advice and education for all staff within the hospital.
To be considered for this important role you will be a Registered General Nurse (RGN/RN) that ideally meets the following criteria;
- NMC Registered Nurse
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Stoma, GI Surgery or Colorectal experience
- Live within commuting distance of LGH & LRI
- Full UK Driving Licence
