Staff Shop Supervisor – Bakkavor Desserts Newark

£26,000-£27,560

Tuesday to Saturday  Days (Tues to Thursday 08:00am-16.15pm, Friday 10:30am-18.45pm, Saturday 07.30am-14.30pm)

This particular role is based at our Bakkavor Desserts site in Newark, Nottinghamshire and specialises in making chilled desserts such as trifles, creamcakes and choux pastries. The site employs over 1,900 people and is one of eight Manufacturing sites that are part of the Bakkavor Bakery sector in the UK.

 The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Staff Shop Supervisor to join our Bakkavor Desserts Newark site and manage all aspects of the on site Staff Shop.
 

Duties and Accountabilities;
Supervising the day to day running of the shop.
Liaise with the dispatch team to arrange pallet deliveries.


Display stock in an organised presentable manner.

Stock rotation/date checking.

Keeping the shop open throughout, with the minimum of shop closures.

Stock taking.

Deal professionally and politely with customers at all times

Cash handling/reconciliation

Raise and receipt purchase orders

Sort out requests for donations and arrange charity donations and collections

On the last day of shelf life - arrange donation to local charities.

Organise the collection/disposal of any out-of-date product.

Place shop orders, Sandwich, and hot food orders

Actively promotes Staff Shop offers to all site employees.

Trains & provides coaching to other members of the team.

Manage holiday/leave requests and ensure we have adequately trained colleagues to cover absences

 

Must Haves;

 

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Organisation skills to facilitate the efficient co-ordination of stock.
  • Numerical skills
  • Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft packages
