Job description

The opportunity
University of the Arts London (UAL) is looking for a Stage Leader to assume responsibility for teaching, course development, and on–going scholarship on the BA Performance: Design & Practice course and the Performance Programme at Central Saint Martins.
You will be responsible for a year group on the course, coordinating and overseeing pastoral support, student engagement and academic support needs, ensuring the wellbeing of the course community and enhancement of the student experience.
You will also provide key academic leadership, working closely with the course team to develop pedagogy and the curriculum in innovative and critical directions. You will stay abreast of research and other developments in Performance: Design and Practice and will ensure that these developments are reflected in the curriculum.
In addition to this, you will initiate and engage in pedagogic inquiry and teaching development, monitor the quality of teaching and learning and contribute to quality, management and enhancement activities across the School, College, and University.
About you
You will be educated to undergraduate degree level in Performance Design, Theatre or an associated subject. We are keen to hear from applicants who are experienced and interested in developing their teaching in design for performance.
You must be able to demonstrate strong and well tested organisational skills within a Higher Education context or a similar environment. You will also be passionate about the practices of performance and design, and the possibilities for creative collaboration that surround your discipline.
You should be able to evidence teaching, and an engagement in teamwork and co–operative practices. We seek someone with experience in relationship building, and the enhancement of the student experience.
