About Our Client
Michael Page have been appointed to recruit for an permanent Shift Manager opportunity based in East Hertfordshire. We are proud to be partnering with a long standing business who have recently experienced a period of growth.
Job Description
- To ensure all production and production team comply with health, safety, environmental and food safety procedures, work instructions and safe systems of work.
- To be a role model for HSE and factory standards
- To provide cover for the production teams
- To accurately review all due diligence paperwork
- Input operational data as required, update performance in shift start-up meetings, morning meetings and shift handovers.
- Plan labour requirements for shift and react to changes, including planning of agency staff.
- To act as site custodian in absence of senior management
- To ensure site production quality is against standard and ensure team take corrective action to bring process into control as required.
- To ensure production plans, cleaning plans and efficiency targets are met. Where issues occur where this will not be met, to assist production team in problem solving and make decisions against the plan as appropriate.
- To ensure cleanliness of production areas to defined standard.
- To escalate issues to the Operations Manager in a timely manner
- To demonstrate to auditors (internal & external) as well as customers the food safe manufacture of finished products.
- Receive and carry out training as required.
- To carry out other duties on site as requested by the Site Management Team
The Successful Applicant
- Experience of working within food manufacturing
- Basic H&S and food safety training
- Good and leadership and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and problem solve under pressure
- Basic maths skills
- Basic Microsoft Office skills (including Word and Excel)
