Standard Details Manager (Architecture and/or Interior Design Background) - Milton Keynes - £32,000-£36,000 DOE
We are seeking a Standard Details Manager with an Architectural and/or Interiors background to join a medium-size multi-disciplinary practice in Milton Keynes. The position involves managing the Standard Details of a major retail store fit-out and the corresponding web-based portal system.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the design and architectural delivery of retail spaces.
This pivotal role entails close collaboration with clients, handling briefs directly, and developing briefs based on simple change instructions. Attention to detail and the ability to work within tight deadlines are essential. While expertise in computer programming and coding is not required, proficiency in managing the technical aspects of the web-based portal system is crucial, as is the ability to methodically handle multiple tasks at one time.
Additionally, the role involves collaborating with team members, briefing changes, and ensuring work is completed to the required standards and accuracy.
Our client seeks an individual with a passion for retail architecture and design, who is highly motivated, organised, and possesses exceptional communication skills. The ability to work well within a team environment, maintaining strong relationships with colleagues and client teams, is essential.
Comprehensive training for the specific aspects of this role will be provided, so no need to panic!
Role & Responsibilities:
* Directly liaise with the clients regarding current and upcoming changes and potential system developments
* Lead weekly meetings with the client and external stakeholders, managing the change list
* Brief team members on changes and ensure accuracy
* Implement changes, including drawing updates and data input onto the standards portal
* Review internal processes to ensure efficiency
* Monitor time spent on changes to stay within agreed fees
* Provide time estimates for upcoming changes to facilitate fee quotes
Skill Set:
* Background in Architecture and/or Retail Design
* Proficient in producing accurate coordinated drawings
* Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Attention to technical details
* Experience and knowledge of UK Building Regulations
* Strong organisation and time management skills
* Self-motivated, whether working independently or collaboratively
Software Requirements:
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Photoshop
* Essential knowledge of AutoCAD
* Familiarity with Vectorworks and Revit/BIM is advantageous
* Fluency in Microsoft Office
