We are looking for someone to #JoinUs as a Station Enquiry Officer in our Public Service Centre Department. Could you be who we are looking for?

About the team/Department you will be joining:

  • We are a large team based across South Wales Police Force providing a face-to-face service to members of the communities.
  • The Station Enquiry Officer role will offer you the exciting opportunity to work with our dynamic front desk teams, delivering a vital interface between our communities and South Wales Police.
  • The team operate on a Monday to Sunday basis, depending on location a combination of daytime hours and shift work.


About the role and your key responsibilities:

  • The primary function of the role is to serve members of our communities, providing a resolution at first point of contact at the front desk in person or via the telephone.
  • Dealing with general enquiries from external and internal customers.
  • Managing and prioritising key tasks in an efficient and effective manner, in what can be a stressful and challenging environment.


What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:

  • We are looking, first and foremost, for a team player who has enthusiasm, and a drive to deliver a first-class service to all our communities.
  • Must be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment whilst managing sensitive and sometimes distressing situations.
  • Part Time post 18.5hrs based at Barry Police Station, your working hours will be Monday – Sunday 0800- 1800, with weekend enhancements paid pro rata*
  • Part time post 18.5hrs based at Pontypridd Police station, your working hours will be Monday – Sunday 0800- 1800, with weekend enhancements paid pro rata*
  • Part time post 18.5hrs based at Merthyr Police station, your working hours will be Monday – Sunday 0800- 1800, with weekend enhancements paid pro rata*
  • Part time post 18.5hrs based at Swansea Central Police Station, your working hours will be 0800-0200 Monday-Sunday, with 20% shift allowance and weekend enhancements paid pro rata*
  • Full Time post 37 hours Based at Neath Police Station, your working hours will be Monday- Sunday 0800-1800, with weekend enhancement paid pro rata*


Shift Allowance, weekend enhancements and expenses will commence following an initial 7-week training, at a venue to be confirmed.

All posts will be required to provide resilience cover at all stations within the force area. Bridgend, Neath, Swansea, Barry, Cardiff Bay, Cardiff Central, Merthyr Tydfil and Pontypridd.
