We are looking for a Statutory Fundraiser to join the high value Fundraising team at Samaritans.

Join our high-powered fundraising team as a Statutory Fundraiser and make a real difference in securing crucial funding for our vital work. You'll be the driving force behind unlocking funding from government sources, working with government departments such as the Department of Health and Social Care.

You’ll be creating winning grant proposals and building relationships with key funders including the National Lottery Community Fund.

Help us to raise vital income to deliver our mission that fewer people die by suicide and enable us to help those who need our listening services now more than ever before. ​

  • This is a Permanent role
  • £38,000-£40,000 per annum plus benefits
  • Full time (35 hours per week)
  • A mix of home working and occasional working in the office in Ewell, Surrey

Passionate about our cause, you'll be driven to achieve results; with a proven track record of successfully securing funding with experience of managing bid processes. You’ll research and identify statutory funding sources and opportunities, drawing on thorough funder research and insights. You’ll proactively coordinate application materials, wording, project outlines and budgets to create a compelling Case for Support against key programmes, projects or themes in line with matched statutory funding opportunities.

Warm and engaging – you’ll be an excellent communicator with both verbal and written storytelling skills to inspire and attract future sponsors and provide a first class Supporter Care and Stewardship experience. ​You’ll manage a portfolio of applications and funding relationships, developing strong cultivation, stewardship and engagement opportunities to grow partnerships with funders.

Strong budgeting experience with good numeracy skills will be required as will experience of financial reporting as you work with our Finance and Project Managers to create budgets for applications including packaging up work and relevant cost across departments for programmes of work and new projects.
