As Programme Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in STEP (Spherical Tokamak for Energy Production) is the UK’s flagship national programme to deliver a prototype fusion energy plant, targeting 2040, and a path to commercial viability of fusion. STEP is deliberately bold and ambitious and seeks people who want to be part of a world-changing endeavour and who have credible and relevant experiencing in delivery.
STEP is currently led by the UK Atomic Energy Authority, which has breadth and depth of expertise in fusion science, engineering and operations built over decades. Over the next year, leadership will transition to a new Company, UK Industrial Fusion Solutions Ltd. (UKIFS) to focus on the delivery of the prototype and, in so doing, the development of a fusion supply chain. From the next government investment gate, UKIFS will lead a collaborative team of industrial Whole Plant Partners who bring expertise in engineering and construction, plus United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) who will remain as strategic Partner providing fusion expertise.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Diary Management and meeting co-ordination: Organise one or more manager’s diaries, arrange travel, training courses, meetings, site visits and a variety of other activities using the relevant tools and systems provided.
- Induction and Site Access :Proactive and effective delivery of induction and orientation of new starters, visitors and placements liaising with other departments to secure IT access, site access, pass building access, and the setup of accommodation on site.
- Data Management and record keeping : Effective management of relevant data systems and records (both electronic and paper based) on behalf of the programme / department ensuring that this information is kept up to date and is maintained with accuracy.
- Internal Communication : Effective internal communications (both in written and verbal form), ensuring clarity and accuracy in all internal and external emails or associated correspondence with the programme / department, and wider business
- Purchasing :Purchase management on behalf of the programme / department as instructed and in line with financial delegations. Checking authorisations and receipts against spend, highlighting any concerns or issues linked to a requisition.
- Recruitment Administration :Support with programme / department recruitment administration, including the scheduling of interviews, planning recruitment campaign calendars and although recruitment administration support as required linked to the online system.
