Stipendiary Lectureship (6 Hours) in Politics

Oriel College seeks to appoint a Stipendiary Lecturer in Politics for one year from October 2024 to September 2025, with responsibility for teaching papers in first-year and second-year courses for undergraduates studying Philosophy, Politics & Economics and History & Politics. Candidates should have completed a doctorate in a relevant field of politics or made substantial progress towards completion thereof, and be equipped to undertake undergraduate tutorial teaching. This is a fixed-term post without possibility of renewal, to cover sabbatical leave. The person appointed will be expected to undertake tutorial teaching for an average of 6 Hours per week during term-time, covering the Prelims paper Part B on comparative politics, and second-year core courses in either Comparative Government or International Relations. The ability to offer additional teaching on optional papers is desirable but not essential. The salary range for the post is £15244 to £16983 per annum, depending on experience.  Contributory membership of USS (the Universities Superannuation Scheme) is also offered. The post-holder will also have access to a research allocation of £948 per annum.
