Job Overview:
Currently seeking a dynamic and hands-on Stockperson to join a close-knit team. As a crucial member of the farm family, you'll not only be responsible for the welfare of livestock but will also take the lead in guiding and inspiring the team. This is no ordinary role – it's about stepping up, delegating, and showcasing leadership qualities that resonate from the fields to the boardroom.
Key Responsibilities:
Livestock Care: Your days will be filled with looking after the animals – from cattle and sheep to poultry. Your passion for their well-being will be evident as you implement and maintain high standards of animal welfare in line with organic farming principles.
Feeding and Nutrition: You'll be the maestro behind creating feeding programs that guarantee our livestock receives top-notch nutrition while adhering to sustainable and organic practices
Health Monitoring: Keep a watchful eye on the health of the animals, stepping in promptly if any signs of illness arise. Collaboration with veterinarians will be key to ensuring their continued well-being.
Breeding Programs: Play a pivotal role in planning and executing breeding programs, keeping meticulous records of breeding activities and pedigrees.
Pasture Management: Work hand-in-hand with the farm management team to implement sustainable pasture management practices that not only enhance soil health but also support biodiversity.
Team Leadership: As a leader, you'll be at the forefront of the team, guiding, inspiring, and ensuring seamless collaboration. Delegate effectively and lead by example.
