Stonemason
Salary: up to £35,000 dependent on experience
Location: Totton
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a dynamic engineering company in the Southampton area, who are looking for a Stonemason to join their growing team and increased worldwide production capabilities.
Stonemason responsibilities:
- Shaping, polishing, mitreing and champfering a wide range of stone materials to drawings using various hand tools and machinery.
- Reading and interpreting templates, drawings and specifications to determine requirements.
- Laminating and expanding aluminium honeycomb for composite panel manufacture.
- Ensuring finished goods are inspected at regular intervals and in accordance with relevant procedures, ensuring products are produced to a high standard.
- Assist with general shop floor housekeeping and maintenance and day-to-day operations of the factory floor.
- General health and safety awareness and compliance with all H&S policies and procedures.
Stonemason requirements:
- Masonry background or experience of working in the stone industry ideally.
- Experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with hand tools and machinery.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to fit into a small team.
