Form of workWe have an exciting opportunity to join our Store Development team as Store Development Assistant/CAD Technician.
The ideal candidate will have a good technical ability and be proficient in using AutoCAD LT.
This is a full time and permanent position based from our Distribution Centre office in Runcorn, Cheshire.
The key accountabilities in the role are:
- Creating layouts for new stores
- Dealing with layouts for store expansions
- Providing practical solutions for improving existing store layouts
- Responsible for creating accurate fire plans for submission to the authorities
- Translating PDF or hard copies of plans onto AutoCAD so that a layout can be applied
- Amending plans based on information provided by site surveyor
- Maintaining store plans so they remain up to date
- Assisting the Store Development manager in ordering equipment for stores (such as checkouts, shelving components etc) and checking orders.
- Dealing with a large number of suppliers and contractors via email, telephone and meetings.
- Communicating with senior management at all levels, property managers, company building surveyor and the site surveyor who works out in the field
- Other administrative duties as required
The ideal candidate will have the following experience/skills:
- Proficient in AutoCAD LT, this is an absolute must
- Accurate in your work as plans are submitted for statutory consents e.g. building regulations and various contractors who work on site.
- A knowledge of UK building regulations would be advantageous for the role and retail background would also be beneficial
- You should be a confident communicator and have excellent organisational skills
- Confidence to work at a rapid pace whilst adhering to deadlines
