Store Manager

Salary: £21,984 - £23,842 (Band 3)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Location: Dudley
Our client provides free care and support for people living with incurable illnesses and their families.
They support families to navigate every aspect of life with an incurable condition, including:
• the physical – helping patients deal with the physical changes brought about by their illness helping with symptom control and pain management.
• the practical – supporting families to manage practical aspects including as finances, housing, legal matters and making future care plans.
• the emotional & spiritual – providing a safe space for families to express their thoughts, feelings and emotions throughout the duration of a person’s illness and after death.
• Care is tailored to each person and focuses on providing families with the tools, encouragement and support they need to live a good quality life.
It costs over £12 million every year to provide services free of charge to families across Wolverhampton, the Black Country, South Staffordshire and East Shropshire.
Our client receives approximately one third of this funding from the government with the rest sourced through various income generation activities including charity shops, fundraising events, a lottery and various other appeals and campaigns.
They are currently looking for an experienced Store Manager for their new brand store opening in Dudley. The successful candidate must demonstrate previous retail management experience, high standard of customer service and aspire to be an ambassador for our client in the local retail community.
Main duties
• To be responsible for the overall supervision and operation of the store in line with Company rules and guidelines
• To be an ambassador for Our client in the local communities, promoting services and the importance of charity shops to generate income for the organisation
• To be ambassador for retail in providing an excellent customer and donor experience
• To support all income generation activity across the retail estate.
• To line manage all those working within the store.
• To recruit volunteers to support your store, and nurture and develop the volunteer relationship.
• Essential qualifications and experience:
• Previous experience managing people in a front-line retail environment
• A proven ability to work within a team and have effective working
• Demonstrates on understanding of effective team leadership
• Experience of shop merchandising
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Experience of people management processes.
