Job Description
The Store Operative plays an important part in the management of goods into our facility. You will take ownership of receiving deliveries, unpacking, and storing goods in their designated areas while following the correct process to ensure efficiency and organisation. This role provides daily support to the assembly floor by issuing parts, preparing consignments for despatch, and ensuring that tools and materials are always being supplied to the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of goods in – storing correctly and inspecting parts for any damage
- Flagging any damaged goods and following the process to rectify any issues.
- Accurately booking in stock and changing stock location when required
- Liaise closely with the quality department making sure that any parts requested for inspection are taken there for checking
- Issue items to employees and components to the assembly floor in an efficient and timely manner
- Carry out stock checks when required
- Pack and despatch spare parts for delivery making sure that the storage area is always safe and not overloaded
- Using a forklift for loading and unloading of goods
- Making sure all stores kanban items are kept to their minimum stock levels
Person Specification
To be successful in your application you will need to:
- Have a National Certificate in Engineering or a keen interest in Engineering/Manufacturing
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbally
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications
- Ambitious and keen to develop in an Engineering/Manufacturing business
- Be highly self-motivated and able to solve problems and find solutions
- Leading by example with integrity and help to encourage a team working culture throughout the department and business
