Stores Support Officer
Bangholm Sports and Outdoor Education Complex, Craighall Gardens, Edinburgh

Salary: £23,651 - £23,857 (pro rata for part time)
Hours: 21.6hrs per week (0.6FTE), days and times negotiable, but largely within Monday – Fridays with occasional weekend and evening work.

The City of Edinburgh's Outdoor Learning Team consists of two residential centres, a city-based resource centre, a technical advice service and a city facility called The Risk Factory. This post is an in-person support post, not suitable for remote working. Successful candidates will be based primarily at our Bangholm Outdoor Centre base and be required to support management of Outdoor Learning resources across the City, including Bonaly Scout Centre.

We are seeking an organised and self-motivated individual to join our Outdoor Learning Team. The primary role will be to manage resources for the direct delivery of outdoor learning programmes across the city.

The successful candidate will support the operation of Bangholm Outdoor Centre by coordinating the storage, organising, issuing and maintenance of a range of outdoor equipment, resources and tools.

Good organisational skills and a flexible approach are essential to manage a varied workload. Experience of managing resources and of maintaining records is desirable. The ability to drive Council vehicles is desirable.

For more detail about the role, please see the attached City of Edinburgh Council Stores Support Officer Job Description. Please note, this is a generic job description which covers the Stores Support Officer role at each of our three centres and as such there are some elements that do not apply to the City based role, e.g. sailing and safety boat checks.

Please contact us at outdoorlearning@edinburgh.gov.uk if you wish to discuss further.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
