Are you a motivated and skilled Warehouse Operative seeking an exciting opportunity to work with our client, a global rolling stock manufacturer and overhaul specialist? If you have experience in inventory management, warehouse stock moving, and are comfortable operating a Fork Lift Truck, then we have the perfect role for you! Join our client's team as a Stores Operative and make an impact in ensuring the smooth flow of materials through their logistics centre.

🔧 Role Overview:

As a Stores Operative, you will play a crucial role in supporting the maintenance team and ensuring the efficient handling of materials used in the operation. This includes proper logging, storage, and despatch of materials while utilising electronic stock management systems. Excitingly, you will also have the opportunity to assist in warehouse tasks alongside your FLT responsibilities.

📝 Main Responsibilities:

Utilise stock management systems for accurate stock control
Receive, despatch, inspect, and issue materials
Update order/materials databases
Assist technical staff in material identification and raising order requests
Assemble and pack materials/goods according to logistical demands
Carefully load and unload trucks, ensuring goods are moved and stored without damage
Perform checks on handling equipment and take corrective action if needed
Regularly inspect storage facilities and maintain optimal storage conditions
Coordinate transportation of materials through authorised accounts
Foster strong customer relationships and explore future business opportunities
Implement and comply with health, safety, and compliance policies

🤝 Skills & Qualifications:

Essential:

Warehouse and/or logistical experience
Fork Lift Licence (Reach/counterbalance)
Strong written and oral communication skills
Good level of computer literacy
Excellent organisational and time management skills

Preferred:

Driving Licence
Previous experience in a Stores role
Basic engineering knowledge
