Salary: GBP114,391 - GBP124,492

Location: Newport, South Wales.
Hybrid working, with a requirement to be able to attend the office.

The role
Reporting to the Chief Executive and to the Council, you work alongside two other Directors and will be accountable for a Social Services department which delivers all the Councils Social Services functions to our residents and hold the statutory responsibility as Director of Social Services. You will have three direct reports to support you which includes a Head of Childrens' Services, Head of Adult Services and Head of Prevention & Inclusion.
You will be a values-based leader and have a key role in advising elected members and the senior management team on service provision and practice, transformation and change and ensure a talented, resourced, and capable workforce is in place. You will be at the centre of partner relationships both locally and regionally. You will ensure statutory responsibilities are maintained and lead large and complex budgets and ensure that services are financially sustainable.
