Penguin Recruitment is pleased to be supporting a growing property developer in their hire of an experienced Strategic Land Manager to their team based in East Sussex.

In this role, the successful candidate will cover the identification of Strategic Land opportunities, negotiation of Strategic Land options and promotion agreements, and managing the promotion of Strategic Land sites through the planning process.

Duties of the role will include:

• Setting budgets.
• Appointing and managing consultants.
• Presenting to/negotiating with planning officers and others.
• Representing the company's interests in joint promotions with other developers.

Knowledge, skills, and experience needed in the role:

• Knowledge/understanding of planning system.
• Experience/knowledge of methods for sourcing/identifying Strategic Land sites.
• Ability to carry out planning appraisal of Strategic Land opportunities.
• Ability to carry out strategic level financial appraisal of Strategic Land opportunities.
• Ability to carry out commercial appraisal of draft land contracts/options.
• Experience/knowledge/capability to carry out effective promotion of Strategic Land.
• Ability to budget for promotion of strategic sites.
• Ability to manage consultants/promotion budgets.

Candidate Requirements:

• Must be articulate and persuasive, with good writing ability.
• Professionally qualified (RTPI or RICS).
• Demonstratable and relevant post-qualification experience.
• Must be motivated and able to meet deadlines.
