We are excited to be recruiting a Strategic Planning Engineer to join one of our Clients on a permanent basis in Heathrow!
Fleet Technical Services is the operational heart of supporting the company's Engineering front-line operation. Covering all aspects of support roles - from Technical services, engine and structural specialists to maintenance planning and supply chain - we make sure the fleet is airworthy.
Responsibilities:
Accountable for the planning and prioritisation of aircraft maintenance ensuring at all times aircraft compliance is maintained
Manage and develop complex aircraft maintenance plans covering large areas of the business.
Drives optimal decisions in the wider team and leads discussions across departments using expertise, taking into consideration the effects on the wider business.
Optimisation of maintenance, inspection and modification programmes to maximise useable aircraft uptime and engineering resources throughout an aircraft's life cycle
Scenario modelling and analysis such as but not limited to: - finding and taking advantage of opportunities - addressing plan delivery/financial challenges - developing better ways of working
Collation and analysis of supporting data required for compilation of Business cases, Business Plan and Financial Plan processes within Engineering including costs of contracted maintenance
Responding and dealing with external factors that may impact on the delivery of the plan, making recommendations to ensure a positive impact on the bottom line
Influences the management of resources across departments and large programmes to meet operational and financial objectives appreciating how actions taken impact own and other departments.
There is an expectation that you will undertake adhoc work on an exceptional basis or provide relevant cover for other team tasks
Skills/ Capabilities:
Strong influencer and collaborator capable of driving key decisions and projects through.
Ability to exercise independent professional judgement within an overall business context.
Excellent analytical skills in both financial, technical and operational data
Advanced Excel and modelling skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to distil complex technical information into clear simple messages and communicate to director level.
Capable of effective leadership
Highly self-motivated and able to lead change, large projects and process improvement initiatives.
Calm and professional when working in a high-pressure environment with the ability to prioritise tasks under pressure.
Experience in dealing with ambiguity and complexity.
Programme Management
Experience/ Qualifications:
HNC/HND/degree level or equivalent in an approved Engineering subject.
Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent industry experience.
Detailed knowledge of EASA regulations, including Part-M, Part-21 and Part-145
Detailed knowledge of aircraft maintenance programmes and maintenance planning
Strong commercial acumen
