The role
As a Strategic Sourcing Specialist you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Reporting to the Strategic Procurement Manager, you'll promote and maintain a culture of openness, honesty, commitment and continuous improvement. You'll actively support the company's Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality, AB&C and other policies and procedures.
Day to day, you'll
• establish and maintain a good working relationship with suppliers, potential suppliers, internal stakeholders and where necessary with customers, such that they would wish to receive and place business with Babcock LGE.
• support NPD and Sales and Tendering functions considering the full procurement lifecycle of the product considering best Capex and Opex solutions for the end user.
• Be working closely with all engineering disciplines (Process, Mechanical, CE&I) to define requirements, engaged with potential manufacturers and support the engineers throughout their technical evaluation of preliminary and final quotations from suppliers.
• Finding suppliers that have best product already established that would suit the application
• Sell the concept to a supplier of the new technology we are bringing to the market - be able to get full engagement on the understand there will be no PO initial until the new technology has been introduced to the market.
This role is full time 37hrs/week and will be based at Rosyth site with hybrid arrangements: 2 days a week on the office, 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Strategic Sourcing Specialist:
• Sourcing products globally from European and Far East,
• Have a technical / engineering understanding or background.
• Be accomplished all aspects of commercial evaluation including contract terms and conditions.
• Excellent negotiator.
• Be enthusiastic, with excellent influencing and stakeholder management skills
The successful candidate must be able to achieve BPSS security clearance for this role.
