Through extensive internal and external engagement, UHL has developed a new Organisational Strategy (2023-30) which sets out its long-term vision and priorities.
The Strategy outlines four key goals for the organisation, along with a set of organisational values which guide how colleagues should operate. The Strategy also looks to embed health equality and inclusion throughout the organisation’s work.
The purpose of this role is to help coordinate delivery of this Strategy and provide strategic and operational planning support to our corporate directorates and clinical management groups (CMGs).
The post holder will support the heads of Strategy and Planning to fulfil the following duties:
• Overseeing, coordinating and supporting the development and implementation of the Trust’s Organisational Strategy and key underpinning plans and strategies.
• Planning and facilitating engagement with internal and external stakeholders (including patients and the public) to help inform the Trust’s strategy developments.
• Supporting alignment and coherence between plans and strategies both internally and externally (i.e. ensuring our strategic goals and objectives align with those of our key health and care system partners).
• Undertaking research and analysis to inform plan and strategy development.
• Supporting the Trust’s annual operational planning and investment processes.
• Project managing the Trust’s Primary/Secondary Care improvement agenda.
The responsibilities of the Strategy and Partnerships Team are interdependent – it is expected that all members of the team, including the Strategy and Planning Manager, work flexibly across the team to deliver organisational priorities.

• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Trust’s strategy development and Planning processes – ensuring that our plans and strategies meet the needs of our key stakeholders (i.e., patients, partners, regulators).
• Engage with a wide range of stakeholders (both internally and externally) to co-produce the Trust’s strategic goals and objectives.
• Support the delivery of the Trust Annual Operating Plan
• Support the CMGs with the delivery of Trust’s investment process.
• Support wider business development activities (this may include for example project management for service developments and leading specific projects).
• Support the CMG Quarterly review process and benefits realisation of investments.
