Street Works Inspector

Our client is currently looking for a Street Works Inspector on an initial 6 month contract, working from the Bristol office 1 day per week.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working within Highways or as a Streetworks Inspector, and will hold a NRSWA Supervisor Card.  Within the role you will work within the Transport team and will coordinate tasks and/or small complex projects and will assist with the delivery of the Streetworks permit Scheme.  Key duties include –

• Under the overall guidance of the team manager, take the lead on assigned project and/or service development and delivery objectives, ensuring the effective deployment of delegated resources (money, staff and information) to achieve agreed targets.
• Develop specific expertise in the team’s overall work programme, with the aim of becoming a source of authoritative advice and guidance to current and future project teams within the Service.
• Provide advice, information and assistance to colleagues in order to ensure that services are delivered to a high customer satisfaction level and in accord with the Services communication strategies.
• Contribute in the development of service improvements and quality assurance in regard to allocated functions. To respond to operational needs and maximise service provision by creating, developing and implementing innovative working solutions.
• Communicate and interpret a range of technical transport related information from internal sources or external stakeholders to progress the work of the team
• Design and implement a range of technical solutions to maintain, develop and/or enhance the highway infrastructure and/or related functions
