Job description

About the role

Cambridgeshire County Council has successfully managed their Permit Scheme for Road Works and Street Works since October 2016.  The aim of the scheme is to improve our capability to effectively manage and maintain the local highway network for the safe and efficient use of road space, whilst allowing Promoters access to maintain their services and assets.

We are seeking an enthusiastic person to work as a Street Works and Permit Co-ordinator in the Cambridgeshire Street Works and Permitting team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to changing the way Street Works are managed in Cambridgeshire.  You will manage the co-ordination of works on the highways network working as part of a team.

You will liaise with Utility Companies, and our Highways Service Contractor and other Stakeholders to find ways to ensure working together minimises disruption on the network. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the works are carried out in accordance with the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991,  Traffic Management Act 2004, Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all associated Statutory Guidance and Codes of Practice.

The team is based in Huntingdon.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact:
