Job description

As a new council Westmorland and Furness Council has a unique opportunity for a Streetworks Manager to work with all highways stakeholders including statutory undertakers to manage and coordinate the Streetworks functions to minimise disruption to the travelling public.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking an inclusive and experienced leader, from either public or private sector, with a background in Coordination of Streetworks and Traffic Management.

The post holder will work collaboratively with the private and public sector and with regional and national partners across government, to seize the transformational opportunities and achieve the very best outcomes for our residents, communities and businesses.

The role will ensure the authority complies with all its statutory duties to coordinate and ensure all works on the highway are approved and planned to reduce congestion and minimise disruption to the public. The role will provide technical advice and support to other teams within the service and the role is also a key interface with utilities, contractors, members and members and public.
