Strength and Conditioning Coach

The Board of Governors seeks to appoint a candidate who has the professional knowledge, understanding and experience, coupled with the personal qualities and values, necessary to manage the College’s Sports Centre, including its new, state-of-the-art Fitness Suite and lead the College’s Fitness and Strength and Conditioning programmes across all age groups.

The College is currently undertaking a £6m development project to transform its indoor sports facilities. This will see, in Phase 1, the opening of a spacious, state-of-the-art Fitness Suite with a full range of brand new weights and cardio-vascular equipment. Phases 2 and 3 will include new PE classrooms, a multi-use sports hall and climbing wall, changing rooms and significant modernisation to the main Sports Hall. When complete, these indoor facilities will match the outdoor and will ensure that Campbell College has the leading sports facilities of any school in the country. Phase 1 – the Fitness Suite – is due to be completed in March 2024.

The person appointed to the post will be accountable to the Head of Physical Education and, through him, to the Headmaster and Board of Governors. He or she will be responsible for all matters to do with the day-to-day management of the Sports Centre and for leadership of the College’s Fitness and Strength and Conditioning programmes.

Hours: Negotiable. 30 hours per week during term time (38 weeks).

(7.15 - 11.00am Monday to Friday; 2.15 - 4.45pm Monday to Thursday; 2.15 - 3.30pm Friday)

Reduced hours outside of term time: 9.00 – 12.00, 3 days per week for 6 weeks.

Pensionable Salary: NJC Point 26 (£34,834 p.a. to be paid pro rata)

(Based on hours as above, this would equate to pro rata salary of £25,841)
