STRESS ENGINEER
DESCRIPTION
Engenuity is an engineering consultancy specialising in material test and characterisation and structural analysis and development. The company has a very varied portfolio of customers in the automotive, aerospace, space, transportation and defence industries, dealing with metallic and composite structures.
The company is looking for an experienced Stress Engineer to join the team.
In this role you will be responsible for designing the analysis including finalising loads and boundary conditions, pass criteria, model construction and analysis, presentation of results and recommendations and other related issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Prepare Finite Element Analysis models from supplied CAD
- Understand, design and implement loads and boundary conditions
- Post process analysis results and interpret them in relation to the needs of the project
- Conceive design improvements and present these to the customer
- Produce reports of the project
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
These skills would be an advantage for the position:
- Degree in mechanical engineering or similar
- Good working knowledge of FEA packages, preferably Hyperworks, Abaqus or CREO
- Good problem-solving skills
- Analysis of composites
- Passenger vehicle safety and crash analysis
- At least 2 years’ relevant experience
- Some knowledge of CAD packages, preferably CREO
- Good working knowledge of explicit, non-linear Abaqus or LS-Dyna
- Possess good communication skills
- Be able to work in a team and on own initiative
SALARY In the range of £35k to £50K depending on experience and capability
