Structural Engineer
Salary - Up to £35,000 dependant on experience
Location - Truro

Ideally, you will be a chartered Structural Engineer or have the ambition to be chartered shortly with experience in the design of building structures in all common materials.

Ideally you will have around 5 year’s experience but with a minimum of 2 years. You must be able to communicate well with clients and other members of the design team and be able to work as a team to help deliver several projects at one time. Preferably, although not essential, you will also have experience in carrying out inspections and reports on building structures to identify defects with recommendations for appropriate remedial options.

You should have experience in using Tedds and Tekla Structures or similar types of software. You will require a full clean UK driving license. We provide ongoing professional development with regular CPD events and either IStructE or ICE professional and technical courses. We also provide assistance with progression to chartership with assistance from our inhouse chartered engineers. We will provide a competitive salary subject to the individual and experience

Required skills and Experience:

• BSc/BEng/MSc/MEng in civil/Structural Engineering
• Civil and structural design work including calculations and drawings
• To prepare quotations for prospective projects
• You are expected to be familiar with British Standards, Codes of Practice and Euro Codes and keep up to date with revisions
• Excellent communication with clients, architects, and contractors
• Able to use AutoCAD
• To visit site when required to gather information for design, such as loadings and the condition of the structure
• A desire to learn and develop and undertake continuing professional development
