SalaryAn experienced Structural Engineer, Chartered or near Chartered status (MIStructE), with at least 3 years of experience, is needed to join our dedicated team of structural designers at Highcliffe Court Design Ltd.
Highcliffe Court Design has an excellent and respected reputation, offering a wealth of expertise in the design of structural steelwork, predominantly working with, but not limited to, steel fabricators.
This is a full-time role based in the Wetherby office with a potential hybrid working from home.

About the Role
You will be responsible for providing innovative and economical structural designs in steelwork for the effective delivery of portal frames and multi-storey superstructures. You will be working on developing industrial, commercial, education, leisure, residential and low to medium-rise office development projects from concept to construction stage.
You should also be competent in concrete, timber and masonry design and possess a sound knowledge of current design standards and working practices.
Required Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree BEng / BSc or Master’s degree MEng / MSc in structural or civil engineering with 3+ years of design experience in the industry
- A solid foundation of working in a structural design environment
- A good understanding of the basic regulatory requirements, including Eurocodes, is required, and you will be expected to demonstrate your knowledge at the interview
- Have a good understanding of UK building materials, methods and structural behaviour
- Possess good report writing and communication skills
- Comfortable in undertaking hand calculations and using spreadsheets as standard and have an understanding of analysis and design software, e.g., TEKLA, CSC Fastrak, Masterseries, IDEA StatiCa, TEDDS
- Be a proficient user of AutoCAD
- Taking active steps to progress towards Chartership and continual professional development
