The Opportunity…
We are looking for a Structural Integrity Engineer to join our Nuclear Services Business.
Nuclear Services is a specialist technical area, and we bring together technical capabilities to support the Hinkley Point C (HPC) and Sizewell C (SZC) nuclear new build projects and the existing Nuclear Operations operating stations and decommissioning sites.

What you’ll be doing…
- Developing the Structural Integrity safety case for critical components of Nuclear New Build projects in the UK.
- Providing Structural Integrity advice and technical leadership to support the resolution of issues during the design, manufacture and commissioning of New Build projects, bringing together the different aspects of the Structural Integrity Safety Case to ensure that there is a robust case for operation of the plant.
- Reporting to the Integrity Group Leader within EDF’s Nuclear Services Structural Integrity Function.
- Providing technical advice for Structural Integrity of pressure equipment to be in line with safety case claims.
Who you are…
You are someone who…
- Holds a relevant degree qualification or professional accreditation in a subject relevant to Structural Integrity or able to demonstrate commensurate experience.
- Works collaboratively and can bring people together to solve problems.
- Is comfortable making decisions and leading technical meetings.
- Is able to manage multiple topics simultaneously to support a dynamic project environment.
- Has considerable industrial experience in the nuclear or a similar high-hazard environment.
- Holds experience of authoring / reviewing / acting as Case Officer for Structural Integrity related safety cases / modifications.
- Can work autonomously, analyse project-wide and high-impact issues, and make recommendations including considerations of safety, quality, cost and schedule.
- Has some knowledge and experience of pressure vessels and piping with its associated potential failure modes and risk.
- Has some knowledge and experience of the requirements of pressure equipment regulations.
