Job description

The Student Funding and Fee Policy Team support a wide range of funding activities for the Collegiate University enabling students to attend the University who may otherwise not be able to.  About the Role This is an exciting opportunity to support students who are in need of funding to fulfil their potential at the University of Cambridge.  The Student Funding Manager role oversees a number of funds from Trust Fund Scholarships which will fund PhD students in their doctorate to prizes to recognise academic excellence across the student body.  A large part of the role also works to support students who have found themselves in financial need and require funding to complete their studies. These funds are a vital for many students across the University.  The role also has line management responsibility for one member of staff.  You will: Oversee the Financial Assistance Funds by dealing with complex queries that arise, making decisions on applications and ensuring payments are made in an accurate and timely manner; Ensuring that accurate records are being kept which can be used for reporting purposes as needed; Secretary to a number of Committees which requires the setting of agendas, minute taking, writing meeting papers and ensuring all actions are completed; Responsibility for a number of University Trust Funds and Travel Awards. This involves running the award application process and offering the awards in their current state but it also has the developmental opportunity to run a project to review and make changes to the process for future years; Support the Deputy Head of the team to co-ordinate the annual Postgraduate Funding Competition. This involves communication and training with a number of stakeholders to ensure that all deadlines are met during the process; Responsibility for a small number of student prizes that are awarded annually and ensuring the Reporter is updated with all the recipient names each year.
