Student Records Assistant
Full time - 37.5 hours a week
Location - BN1
Office based - potential for Hybrid working
£13.07 PAYE per hour
FTC - 6 Months (On temp basis)
My Client, a Brighton based University, are seeking a well organised individual who will provide assistance in the data cleansing and migration in preparation of a system switch over.
Main responsibilities of a Student Records Assistant
- Assisting with keeping records accurate for the registration process of new and returning students.
- Updating registration flags to ensure that students obtain the correct registration status.
- Making sure that all successful foundation year students have been progressed to the degree of their choice prior to registration.
- General administration duties including preparing regular mailings to students regarding registration, annual review and visa renewal.
- Contributing to the preparation of graduation ceremonies by maintaining and checking lists of students eligible for graduation.
- Assist with the maintenance of student progress and registration details including students who transfer, intermit or temporarily withdraw, require an extension or readmission to the University.
- Prepare academic reports to send with applications for transfer to the subject admission tutor to enable the consideration of the application.
- Process changes of course in the student record system and update fee codes as required.
- Notify students of the outcome of the transfer application and draft offer/reject letters, providing advice on general enquiries.
- Assist the UKVI Records Officers with the maintenance of data relating to student visas and immigration.
- ???????Under the supervision of the UKVI Records Officers issue formal documentation (a CAS) for students seeking to extend their visas.
- Update the Home Office Sponsor Management System (SMS).
- Run reports to identify missing/expired passport and visa scans.
- Maintain accurate records for students undertaking either study abroad or a placement.
- Assist with the online submission of change of circumstances to the Student Loan Company portal.
The successful candidate will need:
- To come from an administration background.
- Excellent IT skills including the use of databases and spreadsheets.
- To be capable of fast and accurate data entry with a strong attention for detail.
- The ability to deal professionally and sensitively with enquiries from customers from a range of cultures.
- To be helpful, cooperative and sensitive to the needs and feelings of others including a commitment to customer service.
- Previous experience working with Student Records would be advantageous but not essential.
