Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, Hull and East Riding 0-19 Integrated (Specialist) Public Health Nursing service's (I(S)PHNS) are delighted to offer suitable applicants, an exciting opportunity to develop their career by undertaking the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) Health Visiting or School Nursing training programme.
The course is split between clinical practice and university attendance over the period of 1 year, where upon successful completion of the training programme, you will gain the SCPHN qualification and become a Band 6 Health Visitor or School Nurse.

Following successful application and interview you will join from September 2024 with a one year fixed term training contract with Humber NHS as a Band 5 student SCPHN HV/SN and allocated with either the Hull or East Riding 0-19 services whilst simultaneously studying at the University of Hull.
The post of student SCPHN is a development post building on existing knowledge, skills and competencies as a qualified nurse/midwife to achieve a higher level of practice resulting in an academic qualification as well as a recordable/registerable qualification with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
The programme will enable SCPHN students to learn and work towards gaining the standards of proficiency for entry into the NMC register as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN). In collaboration with the University of Hull and 0-19 I(S)PHN services we will offer suitable learning environments and create opportunities which will enable the student to develop knowledge, skills and competencies to take on the role of a qualified SCPHN within the discipline of Health Visiting or school nursing by the end of the programme.
This will lead to registration on Part 3 of the NMC Register.
