Yateley School are seeking to appoint a Student Support Assistant to join their friendly, experienced team supporting teaching staff in the education, care and welfare of students with learning difficulties. This is an exciting opportunity to help share in the team's dedication to provide an inspiring learning environment.
You will be working term time only, for 39 weeks of the year. The School day is 8.45am-3.10pm and you would commit to between 3-5 days per week.
Previous experience is desirable although not essential but you will need to have patience, understanding and the flexibility to undertake a variety of tasks
The successful applicants will be able to demonstrate the following:-
- Empathy with pupils and sympathetic to their needs
- Relevant experience within a school or learning support environment would be desirable • Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills
- Excellent communicator, professionally discrete and have well developed interpersonal skills
- Good team worker
- The ability to take direction but also be able to use their initiative when required
- The desire to support students to reach their full potential
- As a department we are always looking to train and develop our team, in this instance additional training such as ELSA would be beneficial.
