Job description

We are currently looking for a new Student Support Officer (Welfare) to join our ONCAMPUS Hull centre.
The role is on a part time (0.5 FTE; 18.75 hours per week), permanent basis with the location set in Hull, United Kingdom at our ONCAMPUS Hull centre.Based at the ONCAMPUS Centre, the Student Support Officer performs a key role facilitating a highly supportive and caring environment for ONCAMPUS students to help them succeed, allowing them to reach their potential and providing opportunities for students to develop emotionally and socially. The post-holder will have a key role in ensuring an excellent student experience and will be actively involved in the student engagement agenda.Additionally, the post will support the administration of the student journey from pre-arrival to progression. This involves pre-arrival information, enrolment, induction, visa maintenance and fee collection processes ensuring adherence to a variety of external regulations from the UKVI, QAA and partner university in respect of compliance processes and data management.We recommend that if you are interested in any of the roles, you apply as soon as possible. Candidates may be interviewed and potentially offered before the application end date.Responsibilities will include:WelfareAct as a first point of contact for welfare concerns and referral point to provide students with welfare support, guidance, and information. Liaising with colleagues, partners and external organisations/individuals as required, in relation to more complex cases.Ensure case notes relating to student welfare issues are updated as necessary, including records in the student management system.Safeguarding responsibility, responsible for undergoing and updating training in this area.Working closely with the Centre management and Student Support and Academic teams to monitor attendance statistics and look for patterns of attendance which may highlight Welfare Issues, supporting the attendance policy where necessary.Student Support and EngagementTo play a key role in the coordination of induction and lead on enrolment of students at the start of term.To provide a focused and high level of customer service.Ensuring existing students are actively engaged in the ONCAMPUS experience by leading on the organisation of social and cultural activities to enhance student experience ensuring opportunities are communicated to students on an ongoing basis.Key education, skills & experience:HND or equivalent experiential learningExperience of working in a customer-focussed environmentExperience of providing customer supportExperience of working with dataExperience of working with International students (desirable)Experience of working in an admissions or visa advisory capacity (desirable)IT literateAbility to plan workloads and meet deadlinesAbility to work unsupervisedAttention to detailAbility to keep accurate records and to track informationExcellent interpersonal and communication skills – verbal, written and electronicIdeally we would be looking for someone with direct Student Support / Engagement experience.What does ONCAMPUS do?ONCAMPUS teach pre-university programmes with opportunity for guaranteed progression to a wide range of Undergraduate and Master’s degrees at leading universities in the UK, USA and mainland Europe.
