Job description

Job summary We are seeking to appoint a part-time (0.5 FTE) Student Transition Coordinator with a genuine interest in supporting students as they transition into higher education to support the planning and delivery of all induction activities at Imperial College London until October 2026. As part of the Student Support Team, who coordinates transition activities across the College, the Student Transition Coordinator will be responsible for enhancing the coordination and delivery for all students, with a focus on logistical support for the annual Welcome to Imperial project. Duties and responsibilities You will work with a wide range of professional services to plan, organise, and operationalise events that support Student Transitions at Imperial. The largest element of this is our annual Welcome to Imperial project delivered at the start of the academic year, but we are also expanding our provision for students joining Imperial at other points in the year and to target those in underrepresented groups. You will support the development and delivery of a Welcome comms plan for both new students as well as stakeholders in the Welcome project, including managing the team’s Unibuddy Community platform. You will work closely with and support the Strategic Projects Manager to ensure the smooth delivery of the programme of transition activities including providing a high-level of administrative support, maintaining appropriate documentation, and managing resources. You will also support the recruitment and management of Welcome Ambassadors. As event delivery is a significant aspect of this role, it is expected that the roll holder will demonstrate flexibility in working hours, including working weekends and evenings to deliver events during Welcome. Essential requirements We are seeking a pro-active individual, who is experienced in administration and event planning, including strong organisational skills and attention to detail. The successful candidate will have experience in implementing transition or induction activities, and in delivering communication plans to a high quality. An understanding of the student experience in Higher Education will be essential, as will strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure balancing conflicting deadlines and priorities. Further information Full details of this role can be found in the Job Description. This is a part-time (0.5 FTE, 2.5 days a week) role offered on a fixed-term contract until 30 October 2026. This role will be based at the South Kensington Campus and eligible for hybrid working (minimum 60% working onsite). We will be flexible to different part-time working patterns that can meet the needs of the role. We offer a plethora of staff benefits, including generous annual leave entitlements and pension schemes, which you can find out more about on our Benefits page. Candidates will need to apply via our online application system. We expect a supporting statement which would explain, in about 2 sides of A4, how your qualifications, skills and experience meet the requirements of the role. The deadline for applications is midnight on Friday 8th March. For further queries about this post, please contact Shervin Sabeghi (shervin.sabeghi@imperial.ac.uk).
