We are working with a thriving small animal surgery close to Southend on Sea that is seeking a Second Year Student Veterinary Nurse to join the friendly and established team!
About us:
Our practice has grown steadily since its' opening and we have celebrated our 9th birthday this year! We offer free onsite parking and convenient access to major transport routes including the A13 and A127.
We work in a lovely, purpose built practice with state of the art equipment including digital X-ray, flexible and rigid endoscopes and easy access to a 16 slice CT scanner. Because we benefit from a fully equipped endoscopy suite, we encourage the use of minimally invasive procedures like otoendoscopy for diagnosis and treatment of ear disease, rhinoscopy, bronchoscopy, gastroendoscopy and colonoscopy, lap assisted biopsies, enterotomy, cystotomy and ovariectomy. We have recently invested in Colibri II Synthes power drill to help is with orthopaedic surgeries and ENSEAL and harmonic devices for better surgical experience. We are very passionate about pain management for our pets and routinely perform nerve blocks, CRIs and up-to-date with knowledge of recent advancement in anaesthesia and pain management. We have invested in multiparameter monitors, nerve locator machine, syringe drivers, drip pumps etc.
We are also really excited about process of our practice expansion which will add additional surgical theatre and consult rooms which will enable us to offer better services.
We see a real variety of cases with a ratio of approx. 60:40 dogs to cats. We perform lots of orthopaedic procedures in-house including patella luxation, fracture repairs, cruciate surgeries with TPLO and we also carry out a wide variety of soft tissue surgery.
You will be joining the current supportive team of 6 Vets, 4 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Head Nurse/Practice Manager, 2 Student Nurses, 4 Veterinary Care Assistants, 6 Client Care Advisors, 1 Head Receptionist/Client Accounts Manager and 1 Business Manager. We hold a variety of individual interests within the team including orthopaedics, internal medicine and diagnostic imaging, vets who have completed their certificates and who are working towards it.
About you and the role:
This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. The rota involves early, middle and late shifts on rota basis. There is no OOH requirements. Excellent customer service and patient care is extremely important to us, so we are looking for individuals who share our high standards and work ethos with effective communication skills and be enthusiastic about giving the best service to our clients.
