Job description

Do you have an interest in Student Welfare and supporting students experiencing difficult and challenging circumstances that could be impacting on their mental health and wellbeing? We are seeking to appoint a Student Welfare Advisor to join our Student Welfare Team at the University of Reading. The Student Welfare Team are responsible for providing advice, guidance, support and signposting for students who are experiencing a level of personal difficulties outside study that may have a significant impact on their studies if not supported. You will be focused on providing support to students who may be in distress/crisis to help them maintain their studies and have a positive university life experience . You will need experience of providing welfare support in a 16 plus educational or other relevant professional context and you will be motivated by wanting to help others to help themselves. You will be a self-motivated, organised individual who understands the need for collaboration and working within clear professional boundaries. You will have experience of managing casework and a good understanding of student related issues.
