Student Services / Wellbeing Service 

Student Services is a large multi-disciplinary team that plays a crucial role in supporting our students. The Wellbeing Service is an umbrella term used to describe our various teams, Counselling, Disability & Mental Health, Faith, Welfare and Student Liaison. We provide a holistic approach to student support to ensure students’ individual needs are fully met supporting their academic success, adding to their student experience and educational develop. The Wellbeing team is a busy and in-demand service. We are a tight knit team who help and support each other. We work hard and importantly have fun along the way.

The Role

​The University of West London has 4 exciting new roles within our Welfare Team; these are key roles within the Student Services Department to support and contribute to a professional specialist advice and guidance service for students in crisis, distress and who are experiencing welfare issues such as; Care Experienced and Estranged students, Sexual and Domestic assault and homelessness. The specialist post holders will be responsible for leading on support for students requiring urgent support and presenting in crisis, whilst working collaboratively with other Advisers, Seniors & Heads within the Wellbeing team and the wider Student Services. The roles requires close working with stakeholders inside and outside the University including government agencies, Academics and other professional service teams.

The Person

The successful candidates will have either specialist level qualifications relating to welfare support or significant experience working with students requiring welfare and urgent support in an educational setting, with clear evidence of CPD and extensive knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. Equality Act 2010, Mental Health act). They will have significant knowledge and experience of the full range of support, advice, and specialist areas including; Care Experienced & Estranged Students, Victims of domestic/sexual assault and homelessness.   

This position is not open for current UWL students.
