ASSOCIATE PROFESSIONAL POST

Permanent

Required for an immediate start

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen at Sir Thomas Wharton Academy for an ambitious and suitably skilled person to develop their pastoral leadership. In this role you will be responsible for the pastoral welfare and behaviour of the students within a year group. You will ensure that everyone's safety and well-being is at the top of our priorities through the provision of high-quality care, challenge, guidance, and support backed by a supportive year group Student Achievement Leader and a linked year lead SLT (Senior Leadership Team) member. As the main point of contact for our students and their families, you will be central to providing support that is responsive to individual needs and circumstances enabling students to overcome personal barriers, broaden horizons, raise expectations, and develop students into successful learners.

Sir Thomas Wharton Academy already has a strong team of professionals delivering high quality learning in and out of the classroom who work together to achieve our Academy vision ‘to deliver exceptional learning experiences that enable all young people to thrive in a competitive world and lead successful and fulfilling lives’. If you feel you would like to be a part of that team and could make a valuable contribution to driving standards and performance to the next level, we would like to hear from you. Experience of working with children or young adults in an educational environment would be an advantage but is not essential as training and support will be provided.

You are welcome to visit to the Academy, so you can meet the team to enable you to discuss the post in more detail.

The ideal candidate will:

  • be committed to Maltby Learning Trust's Vision and Values and the Academy's Key Drivers.
  • be a driven, proactive, and positive individual with an unwavering commitment to continuously improving their own standards
  • have a true growth mindset, exceptional work ethic and a sense of humour.
  • have experience of working with students exhibiting challenging behaviours.
  • have the ability to engage, inspire and build excellent relationships with both students and staff.
  • be a team player and work closely with other professionals in the pastoral team to develop and implement effective strategies to ensure systems and processes are rigorously adhered to.
  • be committed to raising standards for all students.
  • have the knowledge and experience of the context in which Sir Thomas Wharton Academy operates.

In return we offer:

  • An outstanding induction programme with supportive and dynamic staff.
  • Mentoring and support from an experienced team.
  • the opportunity to access further training and development, as and when required.
  • Dedicated office space which inspires outstanding performance.
  • An opportunity to work collaboratively within a multi academy Trust.

All employees at Maltby Learning Trust act as ambassadors for the Trust and role models for our students. Everyone is expected to consistently demonstrate high standards of dress and conduct and be fully aligned to our vision and key drivers.
