Job description

The role This is a part-time role working in the Study Skills team in Library Services, enabling academic development for students primarily studying engineering and other sciences subjects. You will facilitate tutorials and workshops both in-person and online, create online resources and host structured study sessions.  What will you be doing? You will be supporting engineering and other sciences students with their core academic skills. You will organise and deliver a comprehensive program of online and in-person academic skills teaching, particularly individual tutorials (including some out of core hours), small group workshops and online resource development. You will also liaise with key academics and school administrators to publicise, arrange teaching, and gather and respond to feedback about the Study Skills service. You will keep accurate records of sessions delivered and develop your own teaching materials, either alone or in collaboration with others in the team, or in similar services. You will liaise with our student team, the Bristol Futures Advocates and also seek and act upon student input to materials and delivery. You should apply if You care about student empowerment through the development of their academic skills. A background in maths, engineering or another sciences subject would be advantageous. Some teaching experience is required, as is understanding of current pedagogic values in post 16 education. Knowledge of blended learning delivery would be advantageous.
