Role Responsibilities
- Undertake physical and mental health assessments for individuals using our client's services, referring them to primary care or appropriate secondary healthcare services for identified health issues.
- Conduct assessments for individuals with alcohol-related concerns, following company's Alcohol Policy and Procedure, and determine safe detoxification measures when required.
- Collaborate with the team in the titration process for individuals using opioid substitution therapy, ensuring effective communication with community pharmacists.
- Provide education, health promotion, and screening for blood-borne viruses (BBV), including administering Hepatitis A and B vaccinations when indicated.
- Engage in integrated care and treatment pathways for individuals infected with BBVs (Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and/or HIV).
- Conduct community alcohol detoxification either at the service or the service user's home.
- Support opioid detoxification in the community.
- Utilise blood test results to assess the health status of individuals and determine the need for specialist medical referral and suitability for community detoxification.
- Refer individuals to specialist inpatient services, including detoxification, and maintain effective communication with hospital and inpatient unit staff.
- Conduct wound care assessments and basic wound dressing for individuals.
- Apply psychosocial interventions in both one-to-one and group settings to promote engagement in treatment services and encourage ownership of recovery planning.
What you need to have:Current NMC registrationPrevious experience in a similar role in a Drug Treatment service, Forensic, Prison or other similar background
